Hello Easy Cloud Customers,

Back in 2010, I made a big change—leaving my corporate career to follow a new path. I was ordained as a pastor in 2011 and planted my first church in 2012. As you might guess, church planting among college students wasn’t exactly a fiscally sound path, so I chose to start my own tech company at the same time.

My journey in tech started in the mid-nineties, mostly as a Systems Administrator managing networks and server infrastructure. However, I had little experience in purchasing domains or designing websites. Out of necessity, I quickly learned, creating my first two sites—Hill Community Church and Easy Cloud Solutions.

From there, word-of-mouth referrals helped my business grow as I began offering web services similar to those I had learned while building my own sites. Initially, I hosted with GoDaddy (yes, I didn’t know any better back then!), before upgrading to InMotion Hosting and later WP Engine, each time improving site performance and stability while reducing technical issues.

Still, as a tech person, I felt we could do even better. Around this time, cloud technology was booming, and our team dove into learning everything we could about Amazon Web Services (AWS). I earned three AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, and SysOps), which gave us the confidence to migrate all of our sites to AWS.

Now, instead of waiting in a support queue wondering why our website was slow, we’ve structured each site following best practices for security, performance, and disaster recovery.

  • Security: Every site is protected by Cloudflare’s edge network and firewall.
  • Performance: Each server hosts no more than 10 websites, which gives you the equivalent of a dedicated server at a fraction of the cost.
  • Disaster Recovery: We operate with the mindset that we should eliminate single points of failure, so we ensure both server-level snapshots and site-level incremental backups. And for our mission-critical sites, our site backups are stored in multiple locations (AWS S3, Backblaze, and Google Drive).

If you didn’t notice any downtime of your site while it was being migrated several times over the span of many years to its final home in AWS, that’s thanks to our team. We monitor your site 24/7 so you never have to worry about your site being down. We’re proud to say that in the past 14 years, we’ve never experienced a significant outage or security breach.

In the past couple of years, we’ve been exploring how AI can help us run businesses more effectively. If you’re curious, feel free to check out our latest initiative, Easy Cloud AI.
